I don’t know who writes the jokes page but wonder if I could make a request to have less risque jokes? My 12 yr old was asking me to explain to her the joke about the woman wanting a drink. It was uncomfortable to say the least and I managed to remove the mag before she read the one about the vibrator.
I dont want to have to make the TIM top shelf , so could they be toned down a bit ? Thanks
Hi Barbara,
The TIM team will in the future try and choose more suitable jokes for the jokes page. Hopefully avoiding any “uncomfortable” situations
Thanks

Barbara, I can understand your point of view about your 12 year old and the jokes in Tim, but I also tend to feel that there aren’t many youngsters who read the Tim, and I would suspect that the majority and most possibly a vast majority are well over the age of consent etc.
I and my friends love the jokes in the Tim, and indeed we read them to each other when we get our copy. Maybe the answer would be that the good people at Tim should put and over 18s sign at the top of the page, but it would be a great shame to loose the more risque jokes especially for the vast majority whom are older. Who knows what the answer is? I suppose they can’t please everyone all of the time.
Its a difficult one to resolve really. I would hate to be the instigator of making changes that would be disagreeable for the majority. I must say that when I mentioned to a friend of mine that I was going to make the comment, she said she also found the jokes in a little bit offensive sometimes, so I dont think its just children, there are probably a few older people who find some subjects uncomfortable. We are all different and we all have diverse opinions as to what is okay and what is not.
As I said, I would not wish to be a pain and , in future, i will probably ‘vet’ the jokes prior to letting Em seem them. That way, I can remove the page if necessary. Problem solved
The simple fact is, the Tim mag has the best readable articles in the Costa’s. Simples!!
Quiet enjoying reading the The Ex Files by Mr Mcgregor, maybe even tempted to by his book when its out as he has a similar sense of humor to me I think. Anyway great mag again, with plenty of places to visit/see, especially the Elche Fiesta and we very much will also be visiting the Wine festival in Jumilla, that sounds right up our street.
Why thanks Stevie, very kind! I have nearly finished ‘The Ex-Files’, and if you like Samantha and her antics there are plenty more similar nutters to keep you going in it. The stories cover a fifteen year period of my life, which at the time I took as normal, but looking back I realise that most of my ex’s friends were barking – mind you, it takes one to know one, and if as you say your sense of humour is on the same lines as mine we can all have a laugh!
Thanks Stevie
John
